These Passage Rewards Rules (the “Rules”) govern promotional points, credits, discounts and other rewards offered by Passage (collectively, “Rewards”). The Rewards program is offered by Passage and is also subject to the Passage Student Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy, and any earning, redemption, offer or transaction specific terms displayed in the Passage website, application or applicant portal (the “Portal”).
Passage may use a particular name, including Scholar Points, for some Rewards. That name does not change the application of these Rules. Terms displayed for a particular earning activity or redemption may supplement these Rules and will control only with respect to the applicable earning requirements, amount, redemption value, availability, limits, expiry and redemption mechanics. They do not override the “Nature of Rewards” section unless Passage expressly amends these Rules, subject to applicable law.
Eligibility and Availability
A person must be eligible to use the Passage Services under the Student Terms of Use and satisfy the requirements displayed for the applicable Reward. Rewards may not be available to every person or in every country, currency, Service or transaction. Passage may limit availability based on residency, destination, account status, program participation or other criteria stated in the Portal or applicable offer.
Earning Rewards
Passage may offer Rewards for completing activities or satisfying milestones identified in the Portal or an applicable offer. Before the person completes an activity, Passage will identify the material earning requirements, the number or type of Rewards available and any applicable limit or expiry.
Rewards may be shown as pending while Passage verifies completion and eligibility. Passage may decline, correct or reverse Rewards that are duplicate, erroneous, manipulated, fraudulent, improperly awarded or associated with an activity that is reversed or does not satisfy the disclosed requirements. Completing an activity does not guarantee eligibility for any particular redemption, benefit or scholarship.
Nature of Rewards
Rewards are promotional benefits issued and administered solely by Passage. Rewards cannot be purchased or loaded and have no cash or stored value. They do not represent funds held for the participant, property on deposit, a payment account or a payment instrument.
Rewards cannot be withdrawn or redeemed for cash and cannot be sold, gifted, assigned or transferred. Schools, marketplace participants and other third parties do not receive, hold or redeem Rewards. Passage may separately fund or pay a third party in connection with a benefit obtained through Rewards.
Using Rewards
Rewards may be used only for discounts or benefits designated by Passage. Available uses, points requirements, redemption values, eligibility requirements, limits and other conditions will be displayed in the Portal or applicable offer before a redemption is confirmed. Passage may permit Rewards to be used toward Passage Services, Passage-funded marketplace benefits, or a potential scholarship or other financial benefit governed by separate program rules.
Rewards do not have a fixed or universal monetary value. The value obtained may differ by country, currency, Service, benefit and transaction. A displayed cash amount describes the applicable discount or benefit and does not give the Rewards themselves a cash value or establish a general conversion rate.
A redemption is not complete until Passage confirms it. Passage may reserve the applicable Rewards while eligibility or fulfillment is pending. Reserved Rewards cannot be used for another benefit. When Passage confirms or provides the benefit, the applicable Rewards are redeemed and deducted from the participant’s account.
Scholarships
Passage may permit you to apply Rewards toward a potential Passage Scholarship. Before you confirm, the Portal will display the number of Rewards to be applied, the corresponding potential scholarship amount and the material conditions governing the redemption.
Rewards are not scholarship funds, tuition credits or money and do not themselves create an entitlement to a scholarship or payment. Any potential scholarship is governed by the Passage Scholarship Program Rules and the scholarship-redemption details displayed in the Portal.
Rewards applied toward a potential scholarship may be reserved while eligibility and activation requirements remain pending. They will be redeemed only if Passage activates the scholarship. If the scholarship is not activated, the reserved Rewards will ordinarily be restored, except where they were obtained through fraud, manipulation, error or abuse, or another treatment was clearly disclosed and is permitted by applicable law.
Expiry, Cancellations and Refunds
Rewards do not have a universal expiry period. Any expiry date or period will be disclosed when the Rewards are earned or in the applicable offer. Passage will not expire Rewards or impose an expiry where prohibited by applicable law.
If Passage cancels a redemption before the benefit is provided, the redeemed or reserved Rewards will ordinarily be restored. If the participant cancels, or if a related transaction is cancelled, refunded or reversed, the treatment of the Rewards will be governed by the conditions disclosed for that transaction. Rewards will not be refunded in cash. Except as required by applicable law, only amounts actually paid by the participant, excluding discounts or benefits obtained through Rewards, may be refunded in cash.
Program Integrity
Participants must provide accurate, complete and authentic information and must not create duplicate accounts, automate activities, manipulate eligibility or otherwise abuse the program. Passage may request information reasonably necessary to verify an activity, redemption or account; suspend a determination while verification is pending; and deny, cancel or reverse Rewards for fraud, material misrepresentation, manipulation, duplicate accounts or program abuse.
Passage may correct a manifest, technical, display, currency or calculation error. A participant may use the contact method identified in the Portal to request review of a suspected factual or calculation error.
Changes to the Program and These Rules
Passage may change earning activities, available benefits, points requirements, redemption values, limits, expiry terms and other program features prospectively. Passage may also modify, suspend or discontinue a Rewards program, subject to applicable law.
Changes will generally apply to future earning activities and redemptions. Passage will not reduce a confirmed redemption through a later program change. Before applying a material adverse change to existing Rewards, Passage will provide any notice or obtain any agreement required by applicable law. Current terms will be displayed in the Portal, and the terms presented for a confirmed redemption will govern that redemption unless a later change is required by law, benefits the participant, corrects a non-material error or is accepted by the participant.
Taxes and General Terms
Participants are responsible for determining and satisfying any tax, reporting or other governmental obligations arising from Rewards. Passage may collect information, withhold amounts or issue reports where required by law and does not guarantee any particular tax treatment.
The disclaimers, limitations of liability, governing-law, dispute-resolution and other general provisions in the Passage Student Terms of Use apply to Rewards. Nothing in these Rules limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective.
