What is the NCLEX exam, and is it required?

The NCLEX is a standardized exam required for nursing licensure in the U.S. You must have passed the NCLEX before applying to the program.

Do I need to transfer my nursing license to New York State?

Yes, if you are licensed in a state other than New York, you will need to transfer your license, which takes approximately three months. New York is not part of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).

What is a credential evaluation, and why is it needed?

A credential evaluation assesses whether your nursing degree is equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor of Science in Nursing. It is required for those who completed their education outside the U.S. Accepted evaluators include CGFNS, Josef Silny, and Educational Assessment (EA preferred).

Who covers the cost of the H-1B visa application?

The employer covers the H-1B visa filing fees for the nurse. However, applicants must pay for any additional application fees for family members.*
